CATOPTRON
The claim
κάτοπτρον · the mirror

A mirror cannot
show you yesterday.

An on-chain research terminal that shows only what it has just read. Every figure carries the instrument that produced it and the second it was taken. A reading that failed is printed as a failure, in the place the number would have been.

There is no example data anywhere on this site, and no ranking is kept to fall back on. When the instruments cannot see, the page says so and shows nothing.

Three states

A figure is read, unread, or none. There is no fourth.

read

A value, with the instrument that produced it and the second it was taken. Every row on this site carries its own age.

unread

The instrument was asked and could not answer. The reason is printed where the number would be, in the loudest colour on the page.

none

The instrument answered, and the honest answer is nothing. A token with no market is not a failed reading.

What is missing from that list is last known good. Stale is a kind of read, not a kind of live, and a reading is dropped from every surface once it passes 15 minutes. The oldest figure currently on screen was taken 11m ago.

The instruments

Two sources, named on every row.

market

The public DexScreener aggregator. Supplies price, liquidity, volume, price change and the count of buys against sells. It is an aggregator, not the chain, and the interface never pretends otherwise.

chain

A Solana RPC. Supplies supply, decimals, mint and freeze authority, and the balances of the largest token accounts. Supply is computed from the raw amount, never from a float field that loses the last thousand tokens of a burn.

A third, candidates, decides what gets looked at: the aggregator's recently-updated listings. It is called recently updated here, not trending — they are different claims and only one of them is true.

Nothing is fetched while a page renders. The sweep writes readings; the pages read what was written. A page that fetched live would show figures that were never recorded, and so could never be checked afterwards. 156 passes have run.

Momentum

Turnover, not volume.

A $200K day against $2M of liquidity is a quiet day. The same $200K against $20K is the whole pool changing hands ten times. Ranking on raw volume puts the largest tokens on top for ever and tells nobody anything, so the heaviest term is volume divided by liquidity.

That is a live token, not an example chosen to make the formula look tidy — it is whatever is top of the ledger as this page renders. Every score is stored beside the exact reading it came from, so it can be recomputed rather than trusted.

Risk

Conditions that are true right now.

mint authority30

More tokens can still be created. The single most consequential thing readable about a mint.

freeze authority25

Your token account can still be frozen by someone else.

concentration25

Share held by the ten largest accounts. Pool accounts are included and inflate it — said here rather than quietly corrected.

thinness20

How little there is to sell into. Full marks at three thousand dollars of liquidity or less.

Risk counts what is true at the instant of reading. It is not a probability, it does not anticipate anything, and a low score is not a recommendation — it is the absence of these four specific conditions and nothing more.

Unreadable

A verdict, not a low score.

With no chain reading at all, or three or more missing market terms, the answer is UNREADABLE — not neutral, not a low number. A terminal that always produces a rating is rating its own guesses, and that is the failure this project was built against: a ranked table under a live badge, filled with tokens the system had no current data for.

Tokens under $3.0K of liquidity are recorded but never ranked. The absence is itself a reading and is kept.

Freshness

Two numbers, set in one place.

sweep cadence

Those two constants are the only thing standing between this terminal and the habit it exists to refuse. Raise the second one far enough and the ledger silently becomes a museum with a live badge on it, which is exactly how the thing this answers went wrong.

What this cannot do

The limits, before you find them.

  • It does not grade wallets

No profit, win rate or wallet score is shown. Computing one honestly means replaying every trade an address ever made and attributing cost basis across them; a win rate taken from a single trade is not a win rate.

  • It does not label buys and sells

Recent activity is shown as signatures. Deciding direction means decoding each instruction against the pool's layout, and a guessed direction printed in green would be worse than none.

  • Concentration is overstated

Pool vaults sit among the largest accounts and are counted with them, so healthy tokens with deep liquidity look more concentrated than they are.

  • It sees what the aggregator sees

A pair the market source does not carry is invisible here. That is a gap in coverage, and it is a gap this page would rather name than paper over.

Look for yourself

Paste a mint. It reads it in front of you.

The terminal takes any Solana mint address, whether the sweep has reached it or not. One it has never seen is read on demand and labelled as such — and nothing about that read is written to the register, because a page view is not an observation the sweep made.

CATOPTRON is research tooling, not advice. Momentum describes what has already happened to price, volume and flow; risk counts conditions true at the moment of reading. Neither predicts anything, and nothing here should be read as a reason to buy.
